Business Owner Service Agreement

This Business Owner Service Agreement applies when you claim a business listing on local.dog ("Listing") and act as an Owner under our role model.

1. Authority and verification

You represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of the business identified in the Listing. We verify ownership via one of three tiers before granting Owner-level edit rights:

• Tier 1 (phone OTP) — a one-time code sent by SMS or voice to the phone number on file from Google Places.
• Tier 2 (email OTP) — a one-time code sent to an email address found on the business's own website.
• Tier 3 (manual review) — a free-text submission with supporting evidence, reviewed by our team.

Submitting fraudulent verification evidence is grounds for immediate termination and may give rise to civil or criminal liability.

2. Your editorial rights and responsibilities

Data-source model. Local Value, LLC DBA Local.Dog operates as a presentation layer over three upstream data sources: Google Places, your business's own website, and Yelp. Substantive content about your business (name, address, phone, hours, website, description, photos, services, price level) is fetched from those sources and refreshed on our monthly rescrape cycle. You are responsible for keeping the upstream sources accurate — that is where corrections happen, not inside this platform.

As verified Owner you may edit these on-platform fields directly:

• Contact emails used to route inquiries from the "Contact this business" form. This is the one substantive content field owner-editable inside the Service, because inquiries have to route to a mailbox you actually read.
• Manager invitations (see § 5).
• Responses to reviews of your Listing (when reviews are available).

To correct anything else, update the source: update your Google Business Profile, edit your website, or update your Yelp listing, and our monthly rescrape will pick it up within thirty (30) days.

Optional paid services. If you would like Local Value, LLC DBA Local.Dog to update upstream sources on your behalf, we offer a fee-based data-management service (currently $50 per hour, subject to change with notice). If you do not have a website at all, we can produce one for you via Localvalue.co (auto-generated) or Localvalue.com (manually produced). Those are separate agreements you may enter into at your option.

You must not:

• Misrepresent your business's services, location, hours, or contact information at any source, upstream or on this platform
• Include third-party copyrighted material without permission
• Post promotional content disguised as reviews

3. License to your content

You retain ownership of content you submit directly (contact emails, review responses, Manager invitations, and any future owner-editable field we introduce with notice). You grant Local Value, LLC DBA Local.Dog and its Affiliates (defined below) a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it for the purpose of operating, marketing, and improving the Service and any Affiliate's service.

4. Listing visibility across affiliates

"Affiliates" means Local Value, LLC and all doing-business-as ("DBA") brands it operates from time to time — currently including Local.Pet, Local.Dog, Vetsnear.me, and Veterinariansnear.me, and any future DBAs Local Value, LLC launches. When your business fits the audience of an Affiliate's brand, your Listing may appear there. You may opt out of any specific brand by emailing legal@local.dog.

Owner-provided content (contact emails, review responses) and any content you submit under future owner-editable fields may be shared across Affiliates for cross-brand presentation of your Listing (for example, a single Contact form on Local.Pet routes inquiries to the address you provided; that same address is used if we surface your Listing on Local.Dog). Your saved-business, reservation, and inquiry logs across Affiliates are consolidated in your Owner account so you can see all traffic to your Listing in one place.

If Local Value, LLC introduces new content types where you supply information directly to us (rather than to your upstream sources) — for example, "Flash Deals" published through a future LocalValue.Deals brand — those pieces will be governed by the same terms in § 2 and § 3, and will be published cross-Affiliate under the rules in this Section 4 unless we agree otherwise in a separate writing.

5. Manager invitations

You may invite Managers to help administer your Listing. Managers are bound by the Manager Agreement before they can edit. You can revoke a Manager's access at any time from /account/businesses.

6. No fee for verified Listing today

There is no fee for claiming or maintaining a Listing under this Agreement at the current effective date. We may introduce paid tiers in the future (e.g., featured placement, premium business websites); we will notify you and require explicit opt-in before any charge.

7. Term and termination

This Agreement remains in effect while you hold a verified BusinessMembership. We may terminate your Owner role for violation of these terms, our Terms of Use, or our Acceptable Use Policy. You may resign your role any time at /account/businesses.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Local Value, LLC DBA Local.Dog for claims arising from content you submit or from your business's services described on the Listing.

9. Governing law and venue

Same as our Terms of Use § 13.
